Adventure game concept coming to English Heritage sites

The Escape Games Company has teamed up with English Heritage to offer a unique outdoor adventure game concept this spring.

The adventure games will be played in and around over 30 historic sites across England and will see participants collaborate together in small groups to solve puzzles and crack clues inspired by their surroundings.

Actors in full costume bring the games to life by interacting with players.

All activities are conducted outdoors offering a Covid-safe environment, and all clues and props are cleaned and sanitised after every game.

The sizes of groups and the number of households allowed to mix will also be adhered to depending on Covid restrictions.

The Escape Games Company completed a successful pilot last summer at Berkhamsted Castle, an English Heritage site in Hertfordshire, where more than 95% of players said they would recommend the experience.

All the new games will be inspired by the heritage of their locations and will be delivered under the company's 'Adventure Out! Games' brand.

Sites chosen range from castles and historical houses, to Roman ruins and abbeys in locations across the country, from Bayham Abbey in Kent to Penrith Castle in Cumbria.

Games are expected to appeal to a broad audience including families and friends of all ages, as well as school groups and corporate team building days.

Adventure Out! Games last around one hour and can be booked in advance at www.adventureoutgames.co.uk with selected games launching from 15 April.

Prices start at £10 per person and games are available on weekdays, weekends and throughout the school holidays.

"We are really excited to launch our games at these amazing heritage sites across England. Our objective is to help bring these magnificent locations to life with fun, energising games founded in fact and inspired by the past," said Ian Cox, owner and founder of the Escape Games Company.
